Invites other to righteousness and piety

Encouraging others to do good things is one of the ways that Muslims can cooperate with each other in righteousness. The prophet (S.A.W.) promises those who encourage goodness to receive the same reward of those who do the good deed.

The Prophet SAW said: “Whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to him who practices that good action.” (Reported by Imam Muslim)

In another Hadith , the Prophet SAW said, “If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their reward being diminished in any respect on that account.” (Reported by Imam Muslim)

But when people encourage others to do sinful things, then they will receive the same penalty of those who have sinned. Prophet Muhammad SAW said, “And if anyone invites others to follow error, the sin, of which he is guilty, will be equivalent to those of the people who follow him (in sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect on that account.” (Reported by Imam Muslim)

The Quran says:
“Help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression.” (QS 5:2)

Allah SWT forbid us from helping each other in ithim and udwan . Al-Ithmu includes every action or saying that brings a sin to the one whom does it. Al-Udwan includes treating others unjustly against others and oneself. When a Muslim stops obeying Allah SWT commandments and does harm and cruelty on earth or invites other to do so, his sins increases, good deeds decreases, ibadah reduces and Iman starts to fall... here is where the heart becomes hard, to the point that nothing of righteousness touches it anymore.

There are 4 stages of acknowledging a sin. The first stage is when a person has sinned and they feel guilty about it. The second stage is when the person are used to the guilty feeling. The third stage is when you feel good about the sin. The forth stage is when you become a defender of the sin.

When a person is at the fourth stage, their hearts become as hard as a rock. This is when their hearts are filled with diseases like hatred, destructive jealousy, uncontrollable desire, arrogance, anger etc. Just look at the people around us today, do you see such of these symptoms in them? The Prophet (pbuh) said:

"There is in the body a clump of flesh - if it becomes good, the whole body becomes good and if it becomes bad, the whole body becomes bad. And indeed it is the heart." (Bukhari and Muslim)

A person with a sick heart does not react to the needs of humanity welfare, charity, or offering assistance. They don't care if people in trouble, they don't care if their brother and sister are afflicted with hardship or being harm. A sick heart ignores righteousness and are prone to vices.

When a person reaches this stage, their conscience is dead. They no more care for what is right or wrong. They would abuse and oppress others. They live their life in greed, delusion and hatred. They would defend the sinful like the macai of Official No 1. Worst of all, they would prevent others from seeking justice by violating human rights.

The Quran says:
"And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers. They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive it not. In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they lie. (QS 2:8 - 10)
