Islam is a religion of peace

Muslims are supposed to instill love instead of hatred. Islam supposed to be a religion of peace and love, where one share their compassion and affection with all sentient being and not a religion of discrimination and violence.

Islam never teaches its believers to hate a person or group of people differently because of what they do or do not believe or because of their feelings towards a given religion. Islam teaches us how to be compassionate and kind towards all sentient being irregardless of race, religion or social status.

Instead of acting like a bully, Muslims are suppose to lead by example and give give guidance by showing others to the path of Islam. The Quran clearly says:

"You are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah..." (QS 3:110)

Instead of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, the Muslims of today are discriminating and attacking the faithfully weak Muslims and non-believers. The Quran basically talks about peace all along the way but in some places it talks about self-defense.

Yes, self-defense in a sense of violence to protect oneself from the ones that attack you. If someone is going to attack you, normally would you be lying alone and stay unprotected? Islam teaches us how to protect ourselves in case we were attacked.

But it never once teaches the Muslims to provoke an attack on an innocent. Many ignorant Muslims just pick out verses that talk about fighting, killing, etc. But, look at the verses written before it and also the verses after it. Then you'll see what it totally means.

The verses that talk about attacking, killing, etc were revealed by Allah SWT when many non- Muslims were attacking the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his sahabat in Madina and that's what Allah SWT meant, to confront the enemies in an act of self-defense. Moreover, the Quran clearly says: "whoever kills an innocent, it is as if he had slain mankind entirely" (QS 5:32)

Hatred and disunity are the tools of Satan that distract us from the ultimate goal of pleasing our Creator by feeding our egos. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Do you want me to tell you of what is better than the rank of fasting, prayer and charity?” The Companions said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said, “Making peace between people among whom there is discord, for the evil of discord is the shaver.” (Sunan Abi Dawud 4919, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2509)
