Be careful who you call kafir because only Allah SWT knows who is truly a rejector and who is merely a misguided person. It is not up to us to "sentence" a person to the Hellfire.
Calling another as a kafir has been listed by scholars as the 'fastest way' to leave Islam. It is extremely serious to expel a person from the faith. In the hadith Ibn Umar related that the Holy Prophet said: "If a Muslim calls another kafir, then if he is a kafir let it be so; otherwise, he (the caller) is himself a kafir.'' (Narration by Abu Dawud #4687, Sahih Bukhari v. 4, p. 124 #6103, #6104 )
Abu Zarr reported that the Holy Prophet said: "No man accuses another man of being a sinner, or of being a kafir, but it reflects back on him if the other is not as he called him.'' (Narration by Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44). While in Ahmad ibn Hanbal’s narrative no. 5260, it has been reported as: "When a man declares another to be a kafir, then one of them is indeed a kafir".
It is always safest to assume that a non-muslim has been misguided or misinformed about Islam and its believers rather than labeling them as kafir. Perhaps there is no other faster way to leave Islam than by calling others as "kafir" or "mushrik". Nauzubillahminzalik...
Therefore, if you want to leave Islam, you don't have to go the the Mahkamah Syariah or JPN to denounce Islam...all you need to do is go around calling others as kafir, just like what the mufti of Pahang did...
